| The Holiday season is off to a good start. The Astros have signed Carlos Lee and Woody Williams. All I want for Christmas is Roger and Andy Clemitte to resign. And an I-mac laptop and for a wealthy family to tell Rebecca and I they would like to pay for our seminary education, and while we're at it, an English bulldog...with all the paperwork so we can breed them. | those of you who are faithful friends, please pray for my mom. she is on her first mission trip ever, Guatemala...shouts out to G-town...and her interpreter was robbed at gun-point in front of the whole team. my mom is a little bit spooked by the whole thing. needless to say they are experiencing some hardships right now. thanks for your prayers and i will keep you updated. much love... | | |

so, some heard and some have not. i have given UPS the boot, and am now working for The American Red Cross. traded in fortune500 for nofortune humanitarian efforts. i am becoming more emergent every moment. just kidding, but i did quit UPS. pray for me and becca as we try to adjust to the huge income difference. | | |
| is it quite true of us that we are "little if anything to all men?" we are rude. condecending and arrogant and selfish. this should be no suprise to many of us since the many of us would claim to be avid readers of the Gospel: "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." in other words, "yes, you do in fact love yourself, and since you do, love your neighbor to the same degree as you love yourself." we must love our neighbor. we must engage the culture in such a way as paul mentioned: "all things to all men." even it means rapping infront your 5th grade class to reach them. way to, rebecca, you understand this verse quite well.
why is the IMB a calling and teaching 5th grade a job? where is the church? i am glad i live w/ an example of a Christ-exalting believer who sees teaching as a calling and not a job. | | |
| When the LORD spoke "Universe" and it came to be, why is the LORD so small? When He parted the waters from dry land, and laid waste to nations without a flinch, why is the LORD so small? This is how we have felt for the last couple of days.
Jesus sat in the boat with His disciples in the midst of a raging storm and rested. He sat, closed His eyes and rested, for what did He have to fear? Rebecca and I made the decision to press on and move to Louisville w/out the security of jobs. On my last day of work, human resources called and informed me my job transfer was approved. On our way, moving to Louisville, human resources from Jefferson County Public Schools called and offered my wife a job.
"Oh, ye of little faith, do you not see Me here with you [Emmanuel]?''
I would love to say I never doubted. I did have belief, but the storm seemed overwhelming at times. Thanks for you prayers and please continue to go before us. holla back
